KFC and Starbucks boost for Oswestry

High Street chains KFC and Starbucks have won permission to build new drive-through sites in a Shropshire town – creating more than 60 jobs.

The global giants will build the restaurants at the Oswestry Gateway development near the town's Mile End roundabout.

Oswestry Civic Society had objected, raising fears the new restaurants would affect the 'vitality and sustainability' of the town centre.

But Shropshire Council granted permission under delegated powers after officers said the proposal fitted policy.
