An investigation was under way today into the cause of a burst water main which flooded a road in Telford.
The water main ruptured at about 3pm yesterday outside the Cuckoo Oak pub in Bridgnorth Road, Madeley.
Severn Trent Water had been carrying out work on the road.
Brian Massey, who works at Bennetts in nearby Prince Street, said: "One of our drivers mentioned it, saying that there had been workers there for the past two days but they couldn't seem to stop it leaking."
There were no workmen there this morning but the area was marked out with cones.
John Pritchard, who works at Tweedale Fire Station, said: "There are some cones there this morning so I assume they've fixed it but it was flooded quite badly yesterday."
Bus users were also affected and a temporary bus stop had to be made after the burst pipe left the road covered with water.
Eleanor Ballinger, who drove past at about 3pm, said: "It was covering the one side of the road but the other side was fine and there were workmen there trying to fix it."
A spokeswoman for Severn Trent Water said: "The team were fixing it yesterday afternoon and the water main has not affected any customers. It is between the pub and the main high street so the only business affected is the pub.
She added the cause of the burst main was still unknown.
