Music fans from across the country flocked to Powis Castle in Welshpool for the festival, which took place over three days from Friday to yesterday.

Organisers said today that the event was a great success and had avoided the worst of the wet weather.

The event featured a host of music acts including The Byrnes, Magill, Darren Busby, Muddy Boots, Knoxville Highway Band, Donna Wylde, John Permenter and band, Little Rock, Henry Smith Band, Gary Perkins and The Breeze.

It also included boat trips on the Montgomery Canal, trade stands and refreshments.

All proceeds from the event, which has been held for the past 25 years, will go to the Heulwen Trust.

The trust provides narrowboat trips on the Montgomery Canal for disabled people and those suffering serious illness. Rozanne Corfield, vice-chairman of the trust, said: "It was a lovely show and everyone seemed to have a great time.

"We made a profit like we do always.

"We were blessed with the weather. We had a few showers on Saturday but didn't have any rain yesterday and the ground dried up really quickly.

"I would say more than a thousand people turned up.

"Some people may have been put off over worries that they might get their car stuck."

This was the second year that organisers have held the event over three days following last year's successful trial.
