Mourners broke down in tears at a packed out memorial service held in a Shropshire church to remember three young children killed by their father at a woodland beauty spot.

Parishioners in Pontesbury packed out St George's Church yesterday to remember the lives of the Fuller family, whose bodies were found on Pontesbury Hill, near Shrewsbury, last Monday.

Prayers and hymns were said before the public queued down the aisle of the church to place a flower on a cross as part of a tribute.

Youngsters Sam, 12, Rebecca, eight, and Charlotte, seven, were stabbed by their father Ceri Fuller, 35, who was found dead in a disused quarry.

During the service, The Reverend Margaret Jones said the tight-knit community had been left devastated by the tragedy.

She said it was a 'terrible loss' for the Fuller family and friends.

"We too in Pontesbury have been effected by the deaths of Ceri, Charlotte, Rebecca and Sam. Although we didn't know them, we have been devastated by their deaths and I know there has been much talk in the village. Tragedies like this do effect us all."

The service began with the lighting of four candles, to remember each of the people who died.
