Trike rider hurt in road smash near Shrewsbury

A young man was seriously injured when the motorised trike he was riding crashed into a lamppost, police said today.

The accident, involving a Honda 250cc trike, happened in Callow Lane in Minsterley, near Shrewsbury, at about 12.10am on Saturday.

The rider was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with serious face and head injuries and later transferred to a specialist hospital at Stoke.
