Thousands of people flocked to a traditional agricultural show in south Shropshire.

The 154th Tenbury Countryside Show gave visitors the chance to see displays of sheep, cattle, horses and plenty of entertainment when it took place on Saturday.

It was held at the showground, near Tenbury Wells, and organisers estimated more than 10,000 people attended from all across the country.

They said the weather was good with only the occasional shower.

During the day visitors were also treated to crafts, produce, a falconry display, a parade of fancy dress, Shire horses in decorated and working gears and a steam engine tug of war.

There was also a countryside ring with events including a sheep show, gun dog display and ferret racing. Visitors were also invited to have a go on the fun fair, browse trade stands and sample local ales and ciders.

Geoff Bemand, show president elect, said: "It was an excellent day with a superb atmosphere. People went away having thoroughly enjoyed the show.

"It was a very friendly atmosphere. We had good weather and a fantastic time.

"One of the highlights was the country ring on the showground with a sheep show with performing sheep. There were also birds of prey.

"We also held a tractor pulling competition.

"I would like to thank all the volunteers. Without them there would not be a show. They work as a team and enjoy it."

Organisers say each year the show, which has a team of dedicated volunteers, gets bigger and bigger.
