The branches in Craven Arms and Church Stretton, which are both based in the offices of estate agents McCartneys, will close on November 15.

Officials at Dudley Building Society had said the decision had been taken due to the lack of use

The offices had been operated by McCartneys' staff. It is not believed any jobs will be lost.

It comes months Barclays closed its branch in Bishop's Castle in July, while in February the HSBC branch in Craven Arms was shut.

The latest closures have been announced on Dudley Building Society's website. Its other agencies in Bishop's Castle, Knighton, Kington, Llandrindod Wells and Rubery in the West Midlands will not be affected.

Tim Taylor, commercial director at Dudley Building Society, said: "Unfortunately we have had to take the decision to close the agencies in Craven Arms and Church Stretton due to a lack of use."
