Boy, 4, injured in collision with lorry
A four-year-old boy hit by a lorry on a busy road in Shropshire today has been airlifted to hospital with head injuries.
The child, who has not been named, was struck by a Renault articulated lorry on the A41 at Tern Hill, near Market Drayton, at about 10am.
He was airlifted to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire after the accident outside Garden City, but police said the boy was not thought to have been seriously injured.
Chris Kowalik, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "The boy had a head injury and bruising down one side. He was immobilised by the land crews ready to be flown to hospital by the air ambulance.."
A community paramedic, a paramedic area support officer in a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire attended.
