Woman and 21 men face drug plot case
A woman and 21 men from Telford and Shrewsbury who are alleged to be part of a plot to supply drugs in Shropshire have appeared in court.
They are among 27 defendants who face allegations of conspiring to supply cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis. During hearings at Birmingham Crown Court this week, Judge Michael Chambers QC directed all the defendants must enter pleas at the next hearing on September 27.
It was also indicated that any trials in the case would be held at Stafford Crown Court.
The conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs is claimed to have taken place between July last year and May this year.
In the dock were Jonathan Rochford, 30, of Lake End Drive, Brookside, the owner of Telford's Phoenix Cars, and four of his employees, Scott Dodd, 35, of Ludlow Drive, Stirchley, Stephen Carless, 53, of Station Road, Donnington, Kenneth Preston, 42, of Hurleybrook Way, Leegomery, and Haroon Hussain, 25, of Millers Way, Muxton.

There are 11 other defendants from the Telford area – David Maloney, 33, of Dalford Court, Hollinswood, James Stubbings, 30, of Stone Row, Malinslee, Ross Myatt, 29, of Dallamoor, Hollinswood, Lee Stevens, 27, and Derek Sheldon, 35, both of Bridgwood, Brookside, Paul Stonehouse, 36, of Culmington, Stirchley, Dean Stewart, 23, of Burford, Brookside, Richard Maddock, 31, of Bishopdale, Brookside, Ian Aston, 32, of Cornbrook, Stirchley, Weldron Dean Cheek, 44, of Shawfield Close, Sutton Hill, and Thomas Price, 25, of Burnside, Brookside.
Also in court was Deborah Northwood, 42, of York Road, Shrewsbury, and five men from the town – Philip Jennings, 39, of Abbey Foregate, Andrew Evans, 49, of York Road, Benjamin Pengilly, 32, of Longden, Gordon Smith, 35, of York Road and Andrew Morgan, 36, of New Park Street.
The remaining five are Andrew Rattu, 30, of Tipton, Stuart Borrows, 49, of Birkenhead, Sajjad Ahmed, 42, of Birmingham, Mohammed Saed Karim, 42, of Birmingham, and Scott Highfield, 39, of Wolverhampton. Northwood, Karim, Cheek, Aston, Highfield, Pengilly, Jennings, Stewart and Hussain were given bail. The others were remanded in custody.
