Two in court on Shrewsbury towpath murder

Two men appeared in court today charged with the murder of busker Benson Bebbington.

Bradley William Davies, 18, of no fixed abode, and Stewart Kevin Doran, 21, of Bainbridge Green, are both charged with the murder of Mr Bebbington between September 5 and 7.

They are also charged with intent to pervert the course of justice by disposing of clothing.

Mr Bebbington, 43, of Beaufort Green,Harlescott, Shrewsbury, was found on a towpath in Ditherington, Shrewsbury.

The town's magistrates ordered the men to appear before Shrewsbury Crown Court on September 17. They were remanded in custody.

A teenage girl arrested on Friday has been released and will face no further action.

A third man, aged 40, arrested on Friday morning has been released on bail subject to further inquiries.
