She said: "To win the award four times in a row is a great achievement.

"I really am proud because every year standards improve and there are so many good pubs in Shropshire.

"The quality of food across the country gets better and better so I'm absolutely chuffed to bits to win again.

"It's a huge reward to all our staff for all the work and attention to detail that they have put in throughout the year."

Reviewers from the Good Pub Guide said the Fox is 'intimate and friendly, with a welcoming atmosphere helped along by kindly, capable staff'.

Mrs Forrest added: "It was wonderful to read because these reviews are submitted by our customers. I couldn't ask for more.

"I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who nominated us. I'm very proud of everything we do here.

"I think the pub has a nice atmosphere and it's in a beautiful location.

"But I think our real draw is the quality of food and our staff. We keep our staff for a long time which makes a big difference. They get to know our regulars which really adds to the atmosphere.

"And our food is excellent – it's not restaurant but not pub food either – it's somewhere between the two and you get a good meal.

"It's great to know people like what we are doing here."
