It will feature Telford Tigers' first ice hockey game of the season.

Public skating will re-start at 10.30am the following day and anyone who attends the ' game will be able to get in free for the skating provided they produce their ticket stub.

The refurbishment will not be fully completed when the rink reopens, but Telford & Wrekin Council has decided on a phased re-opening to enable people to skate as soon as possible.

The rink and bar will be open for the game against Peterborough Phantoms, with the cafe opening later that week.

The refurbishment has seen major internal and external improvements by contractor Morgan Sindall as part of the £250m redevelopment of the Southwater area of the town centre.

Councillor Arnold England, for Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "We have taken the decision to open the rink and the bar as soon as possible to enable people to use the new facility.

Phase Two of the opening will see the soft play area open in mid November, with the preferred bidder announced in the next couple of weeks.

The council expects this area to be launched on November 26.
