Mickey was the guest of honour at the New Bucks Head last night for AFC Telford United's Blue Square Bet Premier League clash against Newport County.

The wheelchair sprinter, who won gold at London 2012 in the T53 100m, was cheered as he made his way to the pitch for an interview at half time.

He was interviewed by BBC Shropshire's James Bond where he spoke of his training regime and the backing given to him by the British public at the London games.

"It was amazing the support that I got," he said. "It has been hard over the years. A lot of training has had to go into it but it was amazing," he said.

He also said it was 'a great thing' to have had a post box painted gold in the town, not far from the New Bucks Head, in recognition of his gold medal triumph.

He was then applauded by both sets of supporters. Bushell, who had previous won a silver in Beijing 2008, had earlier attended an open session to meet fans and pose for pictures at the club.
