Shropshire on alert over flooding
Shropshire was on flood alert today after heavy rain battered the county – with more downpours expected today.

Four flood alerts from Market Drayton to Ludlow have been issued by the Environment Agency after a barrage of rain overnight caused river levels to rise.
The heavy rain also caused flash flooding in Shifnal, Telford and Albrighton.
The Wolverhampton Road towards Albrighton had to be closed due to flooding. A driver escaped injury after their car left the road after hitting standing water last night.
Flood alerts are in place on the Lower Teme; Upper Teme; Severn Vyrnwy Confluence, near Llanymynech, Maesbrook; Cae Howel; Crew Green;
The Tern and Perry Catchment near Eaton on Tern, Rodington and Walcot.
