Boy, 12, crushed by rusty goalpost
As he pulled his foot free the goalposts fell on him, causing liver and crush injuries, from which he died later that day, in hospital.
Constable Andrew Jones from Dyfed-Powys Police paraphrased statements taken from the friends at the inquest in Welshpool.
Constable Jones said: "In the statement of George Clarke, 13, he said that after lunch he went out to play football with Casey Breese and others friends.
"He said during the match Casey was in goal when a shot was fired which went over the crossbar.
"As Casey went to save it he fell on his stomach and George saw the goal come down and land on Casey's back.
"The group worked together and lifted the goal allowing for Casey to crawl out."
He said Casey complained about his back hurting before his eyes rolled into the back of his head."
Constable Jones said that the goals had fallen once before when a youth had climbed on them, but nobody had been injured.
"A number of people have said that they saw the goals come down either a matter of weeks or months before hand," he said.
Marie Davies, said she had seen the goalposts in place two days before the incident.
The inquest continues.
