Viv Kelly School of Dance and Theatre wows Shrewsbury audience
[gallery] A dance school has continued celebrations to mark staging more than 80 shows with a dazzling performance from its young members.
The youngsters joined older members from theSchool of Dance and Theatre wowed audiences at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury on Saturday with two spectacular dance showcases.
Teenagers to dancers in their 80s took centre stage during the afternoon before youngsters aged three to 15 wowed the audience with their routines during the evening.
Born to Dance was designed to be a celebration of different styles of dance, featuring everything from ballet to hip-hop.
Viv, who has run the school for more than 25 years, said it had been an amazing event. She said: "It's been a sell-out and we're really pleased with the support we've received.
"This is our annual showpiece but we also put on at least three musicals per year, which are for everyone, regardless of their age, size or ability.
The show encompassed a range of dance styles from ballet to hip hop and left the audience on its feet.
Among the cast members was 83-year-old tap dancer Phyllis Jones, from Halfway House, near Shrewsbury, who received the biggest cheer of the night for her routine.
