The power went out at about 5.15pm yesterday afternoon when a fuse blew at the Whitchurch Road substation in the north of the town.

Residents living in Roseway and Rosemede in Harlescott were left without power for about half an hour.

A spokesman for the Western Power Distribution, said a low voltage fuse blow out had caused the power cut, and an engineer fixed the problem within 30 minutes.
