Another food bank could be launched in Shropshire as economic crisis continues to bite.

The move is being examined by Whitchurch's Churches Together group.

"It comes after it was revealed that thousands of families across the county are relying on food parcel handouts.

The Reverend Judy Hunt, of St Alkmund's Church, said: "I think a lot of people are very close to the edge of poverty.

"If you have two low paid jobs and suddenly one goes you may not have money to pay for food that weekend.

"It's that type of crisis that is happening.

"People are okay until one thing goes wrong.

"There seems to be a lot of support for the food bank."
