Plans for the Allscott site near Telford include a mixture of developments including homes and an enterprise and business hub. However, residents are being urged to give their opinions on what should happen on the 38 hectare site, where the now demolished factory closed in 2008.

The second of two consultation events was being held today at Admaston House Community Centre, in Wellington Road, Admaston, from 1pm to 7pm.

Yesterday dozens of people visited an exhibition at the Allscott Sports and Social club to look at a list of possibilities for the site which have been drawn up by property developer Northern Trust.

The Trust delivered more than 11,900 leaflets to homes and businesses in the area asking for feedback and inviting people to the exhibitions.

A spokesman said: "We had 425 feedback cards returned so we are expecting a good turnout for the exhibition with a few hundred people coming along."

Proposals for the site include new homes, with affordable housing for rent or to buy through a shared ownership scheme.

An enterprise hub could also be developed with the potential for high speed broadband.

There is also the potential for a primary school, sports facilities, public open spaces and allotments.

Plans also include a village square and a garden centre offering horticultural training and employment.

Northern Trust also stressed that the proposals would not affect the neighbouring Allscott Settling Ponds, a Site of Special Scientific Interest known for its bird life.

A spokesman for Northern Trust said: "The plans are in the early stages and we will be looking at all the feedback."
