Police intensify hunt for Telford robbery suspect
A hunt was under way this afternoon for a man who police in Telford believe may be being given refuge by somebody.
David William Lowe, whose last home address was Baldwin Webb Avenue, in Donnington, is wanted on warrant after failing to appear at courts in both Cannock and Telford.
Detectives in Telford are appealing for the public's help to find the 47-year-old.
They want to speak to Lowe about a robbery which took place on November 14.
A 65-year-old man suffered facial injuries during the robbery at an address in Harding Close, Donnington, and around £100 was stolen.
Detective Inspector Billy Scott, who is based in CID at Malinsgate Police Station, said: "David Lowe has been a prolific offender in the past and we believe he is deliberately evading capture as he knows he has failed to make the two court appearances.
"We have searched numerous addresses in an attempt to locate and arrest him but at the present time we have not been able to track him down.
"As well as links to a number of addresses in Donnington and across Telford, Lowe also has many contacts in Stafford and we continue to liaise with our colleagues from Staffordshire Police as we attempt to locate him.
"We believe it's very likely that someone is harbouring him and I would warn anyone who is helping him they will be dealt with robustly when we find out.
"If you have any information regarding David Lowe's whereabouts, we would urge you to contact us.
"As I said, he knows we are looking for him and, although we will continue to work as hard as we can to find him, we would appreciate any information from the public that could assist us."
Anyone who spots Lowe should call officers in Telford by dialling 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
