Elf Winterbury, otherwise known as Steve Chapman, is teaching youngsters all about the magic of Christmas.

Steve will be telling stories to youngsters in his specially-made 'elf den', which is based in Lornashouse Christmas shop at Number 31 in High Street, Whitchurch.

Steve, who lives in the town, said the storytelling sessions have so far proved very popular with children.

He said: "I went to the shop last Christmas and they asked me to read some stories and they invited me back this year. I have created a grotto or hobbit hole. Even the adults who have come and had a look have been blown away.

"It shows there is a child in everyone really, young and old alike.

"My aim is to teach youngsters about the magic of Christmas and take them on a journey.

"I have created a scene where I tell the stories, which is full of Christmas surprises."
