Tributes to asthma death daughter
Further tributes have been paid to a 21-year-old Shropshire student who died when a sudden blast of warm air in a pub prompted a fatal asthma attack.
Sarah Edwards died at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford shortly after she collapsed at the Hippodrome pub in Market Drayton on December 1.
Her mother and step-father, Karen and Nick Edwards, of Newport, today said their family would 'never be the same again' in the wake of the tragedy.
Sarah, who was a fashion buying student at Manchester Metropolitan University, is also survived by sister Katie Edwards.
Mum Karen said: "I am devastated to have lost my lovely daughter Sarah. She was an amazing daughter and friend to both me, her step-dad Nick and her younger sister Katie.
"Although her life has been cruelly cut short, we hope in time we will be able to celebrate all she achieved.
"We have been overwhelmed by the number of friends and family who have been to visit us to tell us what Sarah meant to them – this is a real tribute to her. We are hugely grateful for all their love and support."
In a statement the family added: "Darling Sarah, our perfect family will never be the same again. You lit up our lives. How we loved Friday evenings, sitting chatting and laughing for hours and in the morning you, Katie and I would snuggle up in bed while your beloved Nick would bring his girls tea and bacon sandwiches.
"Cessca, Stu, Hannah and all your friends have been sending me such beautiful photos and treasured memories, they will never forget the beautiful, kind, loving friend you are.
"Our only comfort is that you were never in doubt as to how much you were loved, cherished and adored and how proud of you we are.
"I am sorry I won't get to organise the fairytale wedding you wanted and hold the beautiful grandchildren you would have given me, but I am organising a beautiful service and reception for you to say goodbye.
"Nanna, Nanny, Debby and all your cousins, uncles and aunts will keep you in their hearts forever."
Sarah's father, Malcolm Carter, of Tyrley, near Market Drayton, said it appeared the fatal asthma attack was triggered by a sudden change in temperature when she arrived at the pub.
Her funeral takes place at the church in Cheswardine on December 21 from 1.30pm. Family flowers only.
