Prince Charles has extended his patronage until 2017, the year that the museum celebrates its golden jubilee.

He became Patron of the Trust in 1979 following a visit to the world-famous Gorge.

Since then he has visited several times, including a trip last September when he unveiled the museum's restored Boy and Swan Fountain.
