The registered children's home at Bagley Marsh, near Ellesmere, looks after two young people in the care of Walsall Council.

The teenager, who has not been named, died at the home after a fire broke out on Saturday night.

Bagley Marsh is managed by Bryn Melyn Care and regulated by Ofsted.

It was inspected in April this year and was praised for the way it puts the 'well-being of young people at the centre of their practice'.

The overall effectiveness of the home, the outcomes for young people, the quality of care and the leadership and management were all judged as 'good'.

Walsall Council Coalition said they were working with the police and other agencies but did not want to comment further today.

A post mortem took place yesterday afternoon.
