Cigarette haul theft at Telford Co-op
Burglars have raided a store in Telford stealing a haul of cigarettes.
The Co-op store in Priorslee Avenue, Priorslee, was broken into between 10pm last night and 6am today.
Thieves stole the contents of the cigarette cabinet after opening it using keys found in the store.
Police said it is believed they entered the store through the roof as there were disturbed roof tiles at the scene this morning.
The store was closed to the public until 11.30am.
Two staff arrived at work at 6.20am to find the cabinet open, and alerted the police.
Chris Ammonds, a spoke- sman for West Mercia Police, said: "We are continuing to investigate the break-in.
"All of the tobacco and cigarettes from the cabinet was taken, but we are unsure at the moment how much was stolen."
