Gaming2u, which is based in Lilleshall, near Newport, takes computer games on the road in a truck fitted with 3D televisions and the latest consoles and games.

The company has been set up by Lilleshall couple Robert and Belinda Thorpe who said they had the idea after struggling to organise a birthday party for one of their three daughters.

The Gaming2u truck takes the computer gaming experience to youngsters

Mrs Thorpe said: "The idea came to us two or three years ago. We were looking for a theme for a birthday party on the internet but found nothing in the UK.

"In America they had these gaming theatres and both Robert and I thought they looked great. From there we decided to start running a franchise and now we are up and running.

"The truck is absolutely amazing. It looks great inside and out and we have four 3D televisions all fitted with the latest consoles.

"We opened in the middle of December and we had seven bookings just over the last weekend alone so it's going really well."

For any youngsters not into gaming, the truck, which is a former mobile library, can also be transformed into a cinema showing the latest blockbusters

Mr Thorpe said: "We have brought one of the biggest crazes for birthday parties and events in the USA to the UK, offering unique and memorable parties for children of all ages."
