Pensioner cyclist dies after collision with car
A cyclist in his 80s has died following a collision with a car on the Shropshire border.
The pensioner, who has not been named, suffered serious head injuries in the accident in Leominster.
He was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham but died on Tuesday night, police said.
Sergeant Dave Bishop, of Leominster Police, said the man was cycling along the B4361, the old Leominster Road, towards Hereford at about 9.20am on Tuesday when he was in collision with a Ford Focus travelling in the same direction.
Mr Bishop added: "It is important not only for the police to establish exactly how the collision happened, but also to the man's friends and family, who our thoughts are with at this sad time."
Witnesses are asked to contact police on 0300 333 3000.
