Marcus Bean, chef-proprietor of The New Inn, at Baschurch, will appear with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the popular programme every fortnight until July.

Mr Bean said he would be making a regular dash to and from London – to make sure that he made it home in time to cook for his regulars at the New Inn.

Mr Bean, who also owns the Brompton Cookery School, at Atcham, near Shrewsbury, has become a regular fixture on the nation's TV screens in recent times.

He has also contributed recipes to a number of national newspapers and magazines, reaching an audience of millions.

Mr Bean said: "Life has become very busy, particularly since we bought the Brompton Cookery School, at Shrewsbury.

"I'm delighted that ITV has asked me to appear on This Morning each fortnight, until July. It's good fun working with Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, they make a great team."

Mr Bean has started teaching cookery to chefs of all abilities at Brompton Cookery School – and has been thrilled to book people from around the UK.

However, Mr Bean said he was not neglecting his duties to regulars at the New Inn.

He regularly commutes between ITV's London studios, or the Brompton Cookery School, back to his kitchen in Baschurch.
