Much Wenlock's power cut as electricity pylon explodes
An electricity pylon exploded in Shropshire today leaving homes, businesses and a school without power.

Flames were also seen coming from the pylon in Much Wenlock after the incident at about 8.20am.
Engineers said it had been caused by a fault. Bosses at William Brookes School said they had been left with intermittent power throughout the morning.
Paul Bertrand, for the school, said: "There was a loud bang at about 8.20am over the road from the school. Apparently a few flames could be seen."
A spokesman for Western Power Distribution said they expected power to return by the end of the day.
