Shrewsbury house damaged in fire drama

A rubbish fire spread to a conservatory causing smoke damage to a house in Shropshire.

The incident happened in Rea Street in Shrewsbury just after midnight yesterday.

When crews arrived they found the fire in the back garden had spread to the cladding on the conservatory and left the downstairs bathroom with smoke damage.

In a separate incident the roof of a large house near Whitchurch was destroyed in a blaze this morning.

Firefighters were called to a chimney fire in Wirswall Road, Wirswall, at about 12.15am but when they arrived they found the whole roof alight.
