Simply the Best Valeting at Plough Road Garage in Wrockwardine Wood had cars on its sales pitch stripped of bonnets, bumpers, headlights, suspension parts and alloy wheels.

The damage to the cars, caused in raids at the weekend, was discovered by the manager Shaun Williams, who said today: "I'm shocked they came two nights in a row.

"I always come back to the garage after 11pm to check the alarms and make sure it's all secure.

"When I came in on Saturday morning, I found two Vauxhall Corsas had both had their bonnets, one front bumper and their headlights removed.

"They would've needed around three to four hours to take the parts off.

"Then on Sunday when I came in at 11am, they had been back again and taken alloys from two cars.

"I actually had an appointment at 11.15 the same morning with the police to discuss the previous break-in, so the officer found the damage with me.

"We've now got three out of four cars out of action, one is without wheels and the rest are in the workshop because we cant allocate parts for them. I'm surprised they had the nerve to come back the following night.

"We've never had anything like this before. I've been running the garage for five years."

The combined cost of the stolen items and the damage caused on Saturday is estimated to be around £3,000, while the costs from Sunday totals around £500.

Police spokesman Chris Ammonds saidthe attacks on Friday night and Saturday night were on two Corsas and a Vauxhall Zafira.

"We are looking into the possibility that the same individual or individuals were involved with both of these events.

"Our forensic team has also visited the scene to see if there is anything we can do forensically to identify the offenders."

Anyone with any information is asked to call the 101, non emergency phone number.
