Fake Obsession played at the Coalport Tavern in Oakengates in memory of the murdered 17-year-old from Wellington.

Ahead of her funeral on Friday, the group lit a candle on stage for the air cadet whose body was found in woodland near Wrexham. Her death has sent shock waves around Telford and wider.

Members of Fake Obsession did not know Georgia but were touched by the tragedy. They invited a friend of Georgia on stage to light a candle in her memory.

Fake Obsession's lead guitarist Dan Guyton said: "We paid tribute to Georgia Williams by lighting a candle for her.

"Emily Goonan came up on stage to light it for us as she was a friend of hers."

Georgia's family has requested that no black is worn at the celebration of her life, at All Saints' Church in Wellington at 2.15pm on Friday. Donations in lieu of flowers will be collected in aid of the church and Help for Heroes.

Announcing the funeral date, Georgia's family said: "We would like to thank the community of Wellington for their thoughts and support at this tragic time."

She went missing after telling her parents she was visiting friends. Georgia's disappearance sparked a nationwide search and Jamie Reynolds, 22, of Avondale Road, Wellington, has been charged with her murder.

A post mortem revealed she died from pressure applied to her neck.
