Cosford Air Show pledge over traffic chaos

Organisers at last weekend's Cosford Air Show have said they will consider offering refunds to the thousands of people who missed the action because they were stuck in nine-mile traffic queues.

Angry readers took to the story comments to vent their frustration, with some complaining that they had been stuck on the M54 for five hours. However, at least one person was on hand to make light of the situation. 'Prince Harry' wrote: "I apologize on behalf of everyone who had a disappointed day, it was my fault. Sorry. Won't happen again."

Bridgnorth crash tragedy couple were found holding hands

This story touched the heart of our readers after it emerged that John and Betty Hodgkiss, who died following a crash on the A458 last Friday, were found holding hands. The story insired many heartfelt comments and tributes on our Facebook page and also in the story comments. 'Rich' summed it up when he wrote: "So so sad, as their son says, the only comfort is that they were together. The fact they were holding hands melts my heart. RIP."

Man airlifted after being hit by train in Telford

A man was airlifted to hospital after apparantly being hit by a train in Wellington. The man, believed to be in his fories, suffered head injuries and was believed to be a trespasser on the line. Trains to and from Wellington were suspended for one hour after the incident last Sunday, which happened at around 7pm.

EDL protest in Shrewsbury over Islamic centre plan

More than 60 members from the Shropshire division of the English Defence League staged demonstrations last weekend over plans to open an Islamic Centre in Shrewsbury. The protest remained peaceful but still left our readers with mixed opinions. "Idiots," remarked one person on our Facebook page, while Steve Adams commented: "I'm not condoning it, but they do have a right to protest, and at least it was peaceful."
