Burglar left elderly couple traumatised
A 20-year-old man is facing jail after burgling the home of a vulnerable elderly couple twice, leaving them "traumatised".
Benjamin Joseph Reid stole a TV worth £600, a £12 watch, a purse and £5 as they slept.
Reid, 20, of Shortbridge Street, Newtown, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates' Court yesterday when he admitted a charge of burgling the couple's home in Sycamore Drive, Newtown, on May 22.
He also admitted burgling the 85-year-old couple's home again between April 8 and 10 taking a purse and £5. He admitted another charge of burgling a house in Crescent Gardens, Newtown, on May 22.
Mr Owain Jones, for Reid, said his client was "ashamed" of his actions.
Magistrates committed his case to Mold Crown Court for sentencing on July 11.
Reid was given conditional bail.
