Elderly woman dies after Telford road collision

An elderly woman has died in hospital following a car crash in Telford.

Two people were taken to hospital following the accident at a junction close to Redhill Way and Wrockwardine Wood Way last Thursday.

One woman was treated for bruising to her left hip, while a woman in her 80s was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with broken legs and a punctured lung.

The elderly woman, from Priorslee, has died in hospital six days later.

Chris Ammonds, a police spokesman, said: "The car the lady was travelling in was heading towards Priorslee from Donnington along the B5060 Redhill Way."

Emergency services were called to the collision between a Suzuki and a Mazda just after 3pm. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting 116N/1306/13.
