The Georgia Williams Trust today launched its official logo a week after the Wellington community gathered to celebrate the teenager's life.

The image of a ferret, the 17-year-old's nickname, was designed by Mark Berry, who represents AFC Telford United, where Georgia volunteered as match day staff.

The logo is royal blue and orange, the New College and Ercall Wood Technology College student's favourite colours.

The trust's official slogan Free Your Spirit – Join In, was devised by Georgia's family to reflect the energy and enjoyment with which she lived her life, which included playing an active role in 1130 Wrekin Squadron Air Training Corps.

Inspector Richard Langton, chairman of The Georgia Williams Trust, said: "We feel we have a wonderful, unique and moving logo that gives a very strong identity and very much keeps Georgia's spirit alive.

"Georgia's family are extremely pleased with what we have come up with and we hope that it will be well received by the wider community, including Georgia's friends."

A friend of Georgia who set up a Facebook page to help find her when she went missing said: "I think the idea of a ferret is brilliant. It is her nickname and she's really outdoorsy so it's a really good representation."

Georgia died at an address in Wellington last month and a man has been remanded in custody, charged with her murder.

The charitable trust was set up with the aim of reflecting Georgia's life and interests by providing funding to enable young people in Telford and Wrekin to access outdoor sports and adventure and to encourage them to volunteer. Georgia's sister Scarlett and childhood friend Steve Millington are among trustees.
