Horses safe but car destroyed in Shropshire stables fire
A fire ripped through three outbuildings, including a stables, in Shropshire early today.
Three horses, which were outside the buildings, escaped unharmed at a property in Oreton, near Cleobury Mortimer.
But a Lotus Elise sports car, which was made of fibre-glass, was reduced to ash.
It happened at around 12.40am and was brought under control within an hour. The owner of the property, who did not wish be to be named, said: "The firefighters were on the scene within 10 minutes but didn't leave until 4am. Fortunately our three horses were out overnight. It could have been an electrical fault, but a fire investigator will be coming out this afternoon.
"No one was injured and we'd like to thank our neighbours and a man from Stottesdon, who just happened to be passing, for helping us move our vehicles."
