Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after Shropshire crash

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after a crash involving a tractor and trailer is south Shropshire.

The man in his mid 20s, suffered a serious head injury and fractures in the crash. at about 7.50pm yesterday on the A4117, near Angel Bank Garage between Ludlow and Cleobury Mortimer.

An ambulance, two rapid response vehicles and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene.

Murray MacGregor, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "On arrival, ambulance staff found a motorcycle that had suffered very significant damage. The rider, who was in his mid 20s, had suffered a nasty injury to his head near his eye. He also had possible fractures to his forearm and leg.

"After his condition was stabilised at the scene, he was airlifted to the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham."
