Pensioner admits causing road death after hitting biker

An 84-year-old man has admitted causing the death of a motorcyclist by careless or inconsiderate driving.

Geoffrey Humphries, from Manafon, near Welshpool, was driving a camper van when he hit a motorcycle being ridden by Simon Kerridge-Judd, of Trewern, on the A483 at Berriew, on October 17 last year.

Humphries admitted careless or inconsiderate driving when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates Court yesterday and will be sentenced on July 9.

The court heard Humphries was turning right off the main road onto the B4390 and hit Mr Kerridge-Judd.
