Chiefs say few 999 call-outs at Shrewsbury ambulance depot
Ambulances are responding to emergencies from a new £1.2 million ambulance station in Shrewsbury once every two hours, it was revealed today.

But West Midlands Ambulance Service bosses said today it still represented less than 10 per cent of emergencies responded to across the county.
It comes as residents accused the service of breaking assurances given over the maintenance depot in Longden Road, which went live in January.
Residents and also headteachers at Priory and Meole Brace Schools have raised concerns over the depot, claiming it is putting more than 2,000 pupils in danger.
A risk assessment conducted by the service in February concluded that measures to protect pupils from an accident involving an ambulance were not adequate.
A Priory School pupil was involved in a "near-miss" with an ambulance shortly after the site opened.
