More areas of Whitchurch park to be closed at night
More areas of a north Shropshire park will be closed to the public at night in an effort to stamp out vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
Last week Whitchurch Town Council announced that the Harry Richards' garden in Jubilee Park is to be locked at night.
Now the cordon has been extended to include Jubilee Park Gardens on the same site. The extended closure will come into force from Friday.
Councillor Alistair Young said: "This was the next logical step to make the park a better place. By locking the gates into the formal gardens at 9pm each evening residents and visitors will soon realise that the park operates set opening and closing hours, like any other business or facility."
The town council has also announced work was starting on the toilets in the park today and is expected to last three weeks.
