Telford sports centre pool shut for emergency repairs

The pool at Abraham Darby sports and leisure centre in Madeley was due to reopen this afternoon after emergency repairs to lights in the changing rooms.

It closed for public sessions yesterday but swimming lessons were able to go ahead.

Telford & Wrekin Council spokeswoman Emily Knightley said: "The part closure was as a result of lighting issues in the main changing area.

"An electrician has managed to restore enough lighting for them to be able to reopen the pool."
