Official opening for Newport art gallery
Art lovers were toasting the official opening of an art gallery in Newport this evening.
Artworx Gallery, which has relocated from Cannock to Newport High Street, was hosting the event from 5.30pm.
Gallery manager Ashley Corrigan said: "We want people to come over after work, enjoy a bit of bubbly and have a look at some great art.
"All are welcome to attend."
The gallery, owned by father and son team Jonathan and Ben Locke, opened to the public last month.
Ms Corrigan added: "Things have been going really well.
"I can't believe how much support the people of Newport have been giving us. It's been phenomenal.'
The gallery is open six days a week and has between 100 and 200 pieces of art on display at any one time, including abstract and traditional work. Pricesfor items that are for sale range from £9.99 to about £1,200.
