Ironbridge coracle regatta draws crowds
[gallery] More than 2,000 people turned out to watch a regatta with a difference.
The glorious bank holiday Monday weather attracted a bumper crowd to the coracle regatta at Dale End Park, Ironbridge.
Coracle enthusiasts from all over the country came into the park to take part in this year's regatta.
As well as the usual races, there were stalls, a bouncy castle and food on offer at the event organised by members of Ironbridge and Severn Gorge Lions, in conjunction with the Greenwood Centre in Coalbrookdale.
John Marsh of the Lions said: "We are very pleased with how it has gone, there are lots of different stalls, mostly charity and all local. The sun has been out, which has also brought a lot of people."
Terry Kenny was one of the first organisers of the event when it started in the early 1990s and was at the event on Monday as a participant.
He said: "It's gone very well, there's a lot of people and it's very sunny so that's very good."
