The world famous RAF team were not officially on the bill for the 40th Llanfair Caereinion & District Agriculture and Horticulture Show, but happened to fly over the Banwy Valley showground on their way to Anglesey.

Liz Harding, one of the show secretaries, said organisers couldn't believe it as the team also flew overhead last year.

"They happened to fly over in the middle of the afternoon," she said. "It was an unexpected bonus.

"It happened last year, and for it to happen again this year was incredible. They flew over the show field, more or less." Meanwhile, good weather and a host of attractions helped to draw record crowds to this year's event on Saturday. More than 4,000 people attended," Mrs Harding added. Last year's show, which was hit by poor weather, was attended by around 3,000 people. "The whole committee is delighted with the attendance," she added. "People had a really enjoyable day. One lady has already emailed me to say it was the best show she had been to." Attractions at this year's event included the Broke FM Motorcycle Display Team in the main show arena, a display by the Wye Valley Axe Men, a donkey derby, and a display of vintage machinery.

There was also the classes for horses, cattle, sheep, dogs, crafts and horticulture.
