The 3,300 square foot unit will be on the Upper Level of the Pride Hill Shopping Centre, and is one of six new shops the retailer is opening around the UK.

Gary Grant, managing director and founder of The Entertainer, said: "We felt the town and the centre itself offered a strong retail position for our store as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers."

The Entertainer is planning a grand opening at the new Pride Hill store on October 12, with appearances by Ben 10 character Water Hazard as well as goodie bags, competitions and toy demonstrations.

Pride Hill manager Kevin Lockwood said: "If we did have a gap in the fantastic mixture of shops here at the Shrewsbury Shopping Centres then it was in terms of toys but that has certainly been filled with the forthcoming opening of The Entertainer."
