Sir Bradley Wiggins leads team in Tour of Britain

Sir Bradley Wiggins will lead a Team Sky squad at this month's Tour of Britain which takes in a stage in Mid Wales.

The Olympic champion and 2012 Tour de France winner will spearhead a six-strong line-up for the race that runs from September 15 to 22.

On September 19 it will include a 100 mile-plus ride from Machynlleth to Llanidloes, Llangurig, Rhayader, Builth Wells to Brecon and on to Caerphilly.

Wiggins said: "I'm really looking forward to the Tour of Britain.

"It is a race I'm fond of and it is nice to see it growing in stature each year.

"The crowds and the roads make it special and it is always very humbling to see the fantastic support that we get from the public. The Tour of Britain is always a tough event and I'm looking forward to getting started."

This year's 10th anniversary race has attracted a record 19 teams and 114 riders.
