Telford pedestrian injured in accident with car

A pedestrian was taken to hospital today after she was knocked down by a car in Telford.

The woman, in her mid-20s, was crossing Castlefields Way in Madeley when the accident happened between 8.45am and 9am.

The woman's injuries are not thought to be serious. Police are now appealing for witnesses.

West Mercia Police spokesman Chris Ammonds said: "The woman, in her mid-20s, was crossing the road when she was in collision with a dark green Volvo.

"The Volvo was travelling from Ironbridge towards the Castlefields Island when the collision occurred."
