Lloyds Banking Group is transferring more than 4.6 million customers to the revived TSB.

The new branches will include Church Stretton, Ellesmere, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Telford, Wellington and Whitchurch.

The bank already has more than 4.6 million customers and more than £20 billion of loans and customer deposits.

The creation of the new TSB Bank, by Lloyds Banking Group, followed a ruling by the European Commission and the UK Government in November 2009 aimed at bringing more competition to the UK banking market.

The new banks will have a nationwide network of 631 branches, four call centres, internet banking, mobile banking apps and 8,500 staff.
