Stacey Louise Bailey, 21, of Harlech Flats, was given a two-year conditional discharge when she appeared before Telford magistrates yesterday.

She had admitted assaulting Lindsay Parkinson and Christine Morris in a pub in Wellington on August 24.

She was also ordered to pay £50 compensation to Ms Parkinson and £25 to Ms Morris, as well as £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Mrs Katie Price, prosecuting, said Bailey lashed out at Ms Parkinson between five and 10 times when she was asked to leave the pub. After being thrown out, she later approached Ms Morris outside the pub and hit her after shouting abuse.

In interview she told police she and her sister had drunk more than a litre of vodka and taken the drug MDMA. She said she was very, very sorry because she did not normally behave like that.

Mr Oliver Nicholas, defending, said Bailey had gone to Wellington for a birthday party which had moved on to the pub. He said: "She is totally ashamed. She can't explain it. She knows full well she would not have done this if she hadn't gone to the party and followed what everyone else was doing. Since this has happened there has been no alcohol at all. Before it she hardly had any alcohol and no drugs."
